ORIENTAL COCKROACH (Blatta orientalis)

Key Biology
- 1 inch long as an adult
- Shiny black with no distinct markings
- Males have wings, which cover 3/4 of the abdomen and also have styli between cerci
- Female has only wing pads and does not have styli between cerci
Distribution/Habits
- Usually found in damp basements, sewers, and crawlspaces
- Climb water pipes and garbage chutes
- Can tolerate hot dry locations if water is available
